Villandry gardens
Villandry is a second French Renaissance castle. It holds a very special place in French History. It was here, on 4th July 1189, that the "Peace Treaty of Colombier" was signed. Colombier was the former name of Villandry. Philippe Auguste defeated Henri II Plantagenêt.
Today, visitors come over Villandry above all to admire its three splendid and diversified gardens on three levels: the water garden, the decorative ornamental garden, the ornamental vegetable garden which extends over an area of 12,500 sq.m. and is completely replanted twice a year.
